Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I’m heading to the grocery store for some avacados, limes, and cilantro! We have become regular guacamole-makers in our house over the past three years. We were first inspired by some fabulous gourmet guacamole we had at Pampano in NYC, then a few months later enjoyed it freshly made at Taqueria Poblano in Alexandria, Virginia.
Cameron and Amy’s Guacamole
2 ripe avocados, diced
juice from 1/2 lime
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/8 tsp garlic powder
OR
2 ripe avocados, diced
juice from 1/2 lime
1/2 tsp lime zest
1 fresh garlic clove, minced
1/2 tsp Kosher salt
dash of hot pepper sauce
1/4 cup chopped cilantro (optional)
1/4 to 1/2 cup diced tomato (optional)
In a medium bowl, combine diced avocados and lime juice. Mash with a potato masher or a fork. Stir in remaining ingredients. Done!
Store covered (place plastic wrap on the surface of the guacamole to keep it from browning) in the refrigerator.
