Bring Home the Beach

While sunning yourself on the beach this summer, take some time to gather shells. They’re plentiful, free, and can become beautiful objects for your home, full of wonderful memories. Don’t forget to take a few pictures, too.

Shell Frame

Supplies:
seashells
plain, wooden frame
hot glue gun and glue sticks

1. Select shells, rinse, and allow to dry.

2. Arrange shells on frame BEFORE gluing to space them evenly.

3. Remove a row of shells, keeping in same positions. Put a squiggle of hot glue on the frame. Quickly and carefully place shells on frame.

4. Insert favorite beach picture into frame and enjoy.

Easy Shell Magnets

Supplies:
seashells
hot glue gun and glue sticks
small, circular magnets

1. Choose a variety of seashells, rinse in water to clean, and allow to dry.

  2. Hot glue shells to magnets. Some shells may be deep, so fill with extra glue.

3. Display those vacation pictures on the fridge.


Shell Votive

Supplies:
seashells
plain, clear glass votives
hot glue gun and glue sticks

1. Select shells, rinse, and allow to dry.

2. Place a small amount of glue on the edges of a shell. Carefully place on glass votive, being careful not to smear glue. Repeat.
